Christmas in the Stockyards
One of the best Christmas things in Fort Worth? Going to the Stockyards! It’s our top pick for holiday fun. There’s tons to do—we shop for cowboy boots, catch cool western shows, ride in fancy horse-drawn carriages, and don’t miss visiting Cowboy Santa.
The big “Christmas in the Stockyards” event happens on December 3rd. It’s a blast with a parade, carolers, story times, and lots of activities. But hey, if that day doesn’t work for you, no worries! Most stuff (just not the parade and shows) happens any day of the week.
The whole place is covered in lights, shiny bulbs, greenery, and bows. And oh, the tree by the Stockyard Exchange? It’s picture-perfect! A great spot for holiday photos when you’re celebrating Christmas in Texas.

A newer but already beloved Christmas event in Fort Worth is the Starlight Symphony. It’s centered around a gorgeous, glowing tree in Crockett Square. Once the night kicks off, this tree puts on a 5-minute light show every evening from 6 to 10 p.m. on the hour.
On the opening night, there’s Santa’s grand arrival, Victorian carolers, free carriage rides, and even sledding on a real snow hill (we Texans appreciate that!). It’s all about making fantastic holiday memories for families. The free carriage rides will keep going every Friday and Saturday evening throughout the season.

Bass Performance Hall, right in Sundance Square near that classy Christmas tree I mentioned earlier, is an ideal spot for a stunning photo while you’re dressed up for a show!
They’ve got a variety of holiday shows for you to pick from. You can either go for a season pass or just grab tickets for a single show. “Home for the Holidays” is the first show in late November.
